Six Hundred New Names for the Big Bang is a winding narrative that takes the audience on a journey through time and place. The piece traces the history of the legendary Chicago nightclub, Cave of the Winds, a highly eccentric physics professor, and Edgar Allen Poe’s bewildering treatise on the cosmos to tell the charming and bizarre tale of how two artists fell in love. Visiting Sicily, Chicago, Milwaukee, Baltimore, and even outer space, the audience is transported by seemingly random and serendipitous events with a sublime musical score weaving the story together.

The Den Theatre and comedy club is pleased to host Six Hundred New Names for the Big Bang on November 8, 2026 at 1331 N. Milwaukee Ave. in Chicago’s Wicker Park neighborhood.
