dodie is an English singer-songwriter, musician and author known for her intimate lyricism, intricate vocal harmonies and emotionally candid alt-pop/folk sound. First building a devoted audience through her YouTube channel, dodie developed a distinctive musical voice rooted in vulnerability, wit and close-up storytelling, often exploring love, mental health, identity and the strange tenderness of growing up.
Her early EPs, including Intertwined, You, Human and Hot Mess, established her as one of the most beloved artists to emerge from the online music community, while her debut album Build A Problem reached No. 3 on the UK Official Albums Chart. In 2025, she released her second album, Not For Lack Of Trying, via Decca Records, a reflective follow-up written largely between London and Los Angeles. The record continues dodie’s evolution from bedroom-pop intimacy into richer, more cinematic songwriting, pairing delicate arrangements with sharp, self-examining lyrics. dodie releases the Deluxe Edition of Not For Lack of Trying in October 2026, featuring 2 new singles and 4 revisited live sessions.
Alongside music, dodie is also the author of Secrets for the Mad, and remains known for the unusually close relationship she has built with her audience through openness, humour and emotional honesty.
The Den Theatre and comedy club is pleased to host Not For Lack of Clarinets - An Intimate Evening with dodie on November 10, 2026 at 1331 N. Milwaukee Ave. in Chicago’s Wicker Park neighborhood.
