Gwen Rose was named by Time Out magazine in association with Hulu as a Comedian to Watch in 2025.
This is no surprise to anyone who has been following her brief but impactful stand-up career.
In 2021 Gwen Rose hit the Chicago comedy scene by storm. In less then 9 months after her first open mic she had already won Laugh Factory’s Fresh Faces Tournament crowning her as the best newcomer to the scene. She also opened for Bobcat goldthwait and River Butcher at the Den Theatre.
Since then Gwen returned to Fresh Faces, this time as a headliner, where she sold 197 tickets on a Tuesday, cementing her as not just a regular at Laugh Factory, but a club favorite.
She has also made return visits to the Den, most noticeably as an opener for Julio Torres and now she is returning to the Den to record her first special.
The Den Theatre and comedy club is pleased to host Gwen Rose: A Live Comedy Special Filming on June 19, 2025 at 1331 N. Milwaukee Ave. in Chicago’s Wicker Park neighborhood.
