Mud City Improv Festival is a Chicago-based improv festival that aims to celebrate the massive improv hub that Chicago is. We are excited to announce that our final and ultimate show for the fest this year will be hosted in the Heath Mainstage at the The Den Theater, with one of the greatest lineups of improvisors Chicago can offer! This year the festival will consist of 12 shows spread across six of Chicago's biggest improv theaters. The festival also aims to connect college improv teams to the Chicago improv community. This year’s festival will take place June 4th-6th at various venues in Chicago, with three nights of performances, workshops with veteran improvisors, and the opportunity to meet other college improvisors from across the country.

The Den Theatre and comedy club is pleased to host Mud City Improv Festival on June 6, 2026 at 1331 N. Milwaukee Ave. in Chicago’s Wicker Park neighborhood.
