One Liner Madness Comedy Show

This event has a 2 drink minimum.

ONE LINER MADNESS is a Time Out Critics’ Pick show that travels the country to find the best joke writer in every city.

On Wednesday, October 16, 64 Chicago comedians will go head-to-head in a bracket-style, single-elimination, one-liner joke contest. Audience applause determines which performers advance, and who ultimately becomes the 2024 ONE LINER MADNESS CHAMPION and winner of the trophy and cash prize. It’s like a March Madness tournament, but 95 minutes, and with jokes instead of basketballs. Hosted by Emily Winter, Chelsea Hood, and Larry Mancini.

Emily Winter is a Chicago native who's been hosting One Liner Madness across the country since 2015. She's also a WGA TV writer, standup, and author of the trivia book One Day Smarter. Her standup comedy plays on SiriusXM, and her essays have been featured in The New York Times, The New Yorker and Glamour.

Chelsea Hood grew up in the burbs and has travelled the country doing comedy for over 12 years. Locally, you’ve seen her on WGN and NBC Chicago. You can catch her at the Laugh Factory, Zanies or the Improv in Schaumburg performing most nights. She is part of the Stand Up Faculty at The Second City.

Larry Mancini is a Chicago-native who now fronts the Brooklyn-based pop-punk band, The Sparkles.
