blackmail, disguises, wet grass, and whispers.

Think Tank Comedy: Chasing the Hype
Sunday @ 7:30PM - June 2nd thru June 23rd.
Purchase ticket today at http://chasingthehype.brownpapertickets.com/
Think Tank returns to the stage with a new dose of its trademark style of silly satire and bizarre scenarios. "Chasing the Hype" uses elements of vaudeville, silent film, and multimedia to poke fun at the bloated news media, and the prevalence of misinformation fed to the masses through the instantaneous "reporting" of news events.
The 24-hour news cycle, twitter, and a smartphone in every hand has vastly increased the speed in which news events are "reported." With their trademark style of silly satire and bizarre scenarios, Think Tank pokes fun at America’s obsession with reporting the news as quickly and bombastically as possible. With elements of vaudeville, silent film, and multimedia, “Chasing the Hype” presents a portrait of reactionary news coverage, along with a crop of scenes designed to poke fun at the sillier aspects of every-day life. Chicago press has called Think Tank “some of the most bizarre, high-concept comedy around” and a “standout in the overcrowded scene of local sketch comedy.”
Described as some of the "most bizarre, high-concept comedy around," and a "standout among the overcrowded scene of local sketch comedy," Think Tank has been performing in Chicago and around the Midwest for 6 years. Members include Kevin Carroll, Brent Bridwell, Paul Robinson, and Peter Stepnoski. All of these fine men have studied acting, comedy, and writing in Chicago at the Second City Conservatory, IO, and Columbia College.

Loyalty Production present: CIRCUS CIRCUS
Written by Eric Welch and Brian Walker
June 7th, 8th, 9th, 14th, 15th, 16th
Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays matinees at 3:00 p.m.
Circus Circus creates a world within our world. One that society is barely aware of, and one in which even if you’ve never been there you have still heard stories about. You will gain access to this world through our main character, Robert, immersed deep within the system.
Circus Circus follows Robert as he is arrested for marijuana and sent to Circus Circus State Penitentiary. Through Robert you will be exposed to the loss, degradation, and chaos he is faced with on a daily basis, under the tight control of the spectacular, wonderful, extravagant, and sinister, Warden Gordon. He allows you access because like any good ringmaster, Warden Gordon enjoys showing off. Robert sits patiently, locked up alongside violent offenders, child molesters, and rapists! Some of these offenders even have a shorter prison sentence than him, and it’s all because he was arrested for marijuana. Does that make sense? A non-violent crime receiving more time than a violent crime? It happens every day, and every day our prison system is being over-crowded with non-violent marijuana offenders.
This is not a political, soap-box preaching, prison play or one heralding marijuana. This is Circus Circus- based entirely on a true story. A story that will be told not just through our actors, but with original music and video imagery strewn across multiple television screens in the theatre. Like any circus, we have prepared a night full of entertainment, and one thing is for certain, Circus Circus is a one of a kind, original play. Enjoy the show!
Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at the link below.

Set to a 1970’s soundtrack, come back to a not-so-much gentler time where our problems weren’t that much different than today but they were so much more FABULOUS!

Her Story Theater presents:
SHADOW TOWN
October 10-November 17, 2013
HER STORY THEATER creates an original production based on the interviewed lives of girls trafficked into the Chicago sex slave trade and those involved with their rescue and recovery.
Proceeds will benefit P.R.O.M.I.S.E, a Salvation Army program, that created and supports Anne's House - long term residential housing and care for sex trafficked girls, ages 12 to 17; and The DREAMCATCHER Foundation, a street rescue and recovery organization for Chicago sex trafficked girls and women.
SHADOW TOWN is a powerful and attitude changing production on this horrific issue. The production creates an understanding of the nightmare these young girls endure. It is a call for all of us to step forward and end this modern day slavery.
