Cabaret, 1331 N. Milwaukee Ave.
Chicago, IL 60622 United States
$5
The Den Theatre

Panda Riot is an indie pop group from Philadelphia, whose buzzy guitar riffs, gossamer vocals, and swaths of synthesized distortion recollect early-'90s acts like Tender Trap, the Softies, and My Bloody Valentine. Star Tropics evolved from a drum-machine-backed bass & guitar duo into a carefree, primary-colored indiepop quartet. Blending boy/girl vocals on top of jangly Rickenbacker leads, a healthy dose of fuzzy rhythms and the pulse of a driving beat, their songs can be described as equal parts celebratory and introspective. Rei Clone: noisy punk inspired shoegazing played by Dentons biggest anime geeks.
